Merry Christmas

Well belated Merry Christmas.  It has been a crazy crazy couple of days.  Our plan was to come down Christmas morning after the kids opened their gifts, until the Colorado weather had another plan.  Forecast was snow starting Christmas Eve and snowing until Christmas Day afternoon and bitter cold.  UGH!!  So we made a last minute decision to go to Haxtun on Christmas Eve.  We had to end up taking two cars down and forget some stuff (the camera's battery. . I am still bitter about that)  Thanks to everyone else we have pics from Christmas.  We barely made it to church in Haxtun at 6pm.  I did not want to miss church.  Church on Christmas Eve brings me such peace, my favorite night of the year.  I felt very unorganized, but everything turned out good.  Two cars, 6 totes, and 4 coolers later we arrived.  The kids love being able to be at grandma's house and see both grandmas.

Christmas morning. . .I don't know if Kolt or Jase is more tired.
Jase got a big combine from Santa.

Jade got two tinkerbell dolls and a bike.

We spent the first half of Christmas at Justin's family then in the afternoon journeyed over to my mom and dad's.  It was so nice having everyone together. We had a seafood mexican meal.  Since mom and dad are usually in Arizona, we delivered the cuisine to them.  We had shrimp tacos, beef enchiladas, steamed lobster tails, refried beans and rice, dips and chips, cheesecake and key lime pie.  I had been cooking for the past week to prepare for all the food.  Let me just say enjoy the refried beans in a can, because it took me 2 days to make homemade real authentic ones.

A special treat all the grandkids and grandma and grandpa.
The kids loved the gift from Uncle Rick.

It was so special to have everyone together on my side, and a miracle to make it happen. Jessa did not make counts until Friday so she is in the hospital right now. She is really having a rough time with this chemo - (vomiting, muscle aches, high fever etc) My grandma fell on the day before Christmas and broke her wrist, she will be 95 in February. She is doing okay, and back home. My dad will have his surgery on Monday. So send some extra prayers this week for strength and healing for Jessa, my dad and my grandma. My dad's surgery is very complicated-- they will be removing the bladder, kidney and lymph nodes. He is expected to be in the hospital 5-10 days.  Monday will be a long and stressful day, his surgery is expected to last 6 hrs.

It was a beautiful Christmas spending time with both families.  Jade and Jase loved playing with their cousins, who are always willing to play.  Despite all the medical issues in our family, feeling very blessed to be with all of them.
