We took our first camping trip with our new trailer. It was so much fun. We went to Estes Park to Jellystone Park. We picked a RV park with facilities in case something did not work the first time.

It was an 80's themed weekend and Saturday night they had a dance. Jade had a blast. There was also a costume contest. I tried to make Jade look like the 80's.
I love watching the kids explore.
Saturday morning, we took an amazing hike in Rocky Mountain National Park to Alberta Falls. The kids were rock stars and enjoyed the hike. We even hiked through snow.
The waterfall was amazing and running very fast.
Then we hiked down to Bear Lake.
Of course we saw lots of animals. Jade is keeping a camping journal. Here is here tally. . .101 Elk, 5 deer, 2 chipmunks, 3 bears, 1 bug, owls, 11 horses.
So Justin and I saw a baby bear run through a meadow. . we were about 30 seconds to late to see the mama bear and the other baby bear. The girl next to us caught it on camera.
We cooked hot dogs, carne asada, quesadillas, smores, strawberry shortcake on the fire. Kids loved it.
It was a very successful camping trip. We had a wonderful time. It made me feel much better about making a big purchase like a trailer. We have lots of camping trips planned this summer.
